DISPLAY - EUROPEAN PREVIEW | ENDLESS NIGHTS ~ MAPPING THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES THROUGH A COLLECTIVE MEMORY by GUADALUPE ROSALES LA
— This SPRINT edition is inaugurated with the European preview project by the artist/archivist Guadalupe Rosales, hosted at the O' non-profit association. Rosales' practice is based on the theme of the archive in progress, composed of photographs, videos, audio and vernacular objects related to the Rave scene of the '90s and to the Latinx and Chicanx youth culture of Los Angeles. The stories that the artist collects, partly visible in the profiles of the related projects - @veteranas_and_rucas | @map_pointz - are traces of a community represented below in the institutional context, fragile and intense testimonies of authentic experiences. Rosales has realized an immersive site-specific installation, which deconstructs and reframes marginalized histories, offering platforms of conversation and agency of self-representation. This occasion is also the first opportunity, for the public, to consult Map Pointz, the brand new volume by Guadalupe for the Little Big Man publishing house. The edition documents the popular SoCal crew of kids active in the West Coast Techno/Acid scene of the '90s, subculture in which Rosales was involved in first person | veteranasandrucas.com | → opening 23 NOV 6–10pm | 24-25 NOV 11am–6pm | O' non-profit association

Participation is addressed to Italian artists or artists based in Italy, as a sign of support to the local community. This series of works is a collection, which includes thirty-nine contributions, produced by _\|/_ and showed during the salon, fed every year by new collaborations, with the idea of building a nomadic exhibition that may involve, in the future, more or less institutional sites. The banners exist in two copies, one donated to the author while the other is kept in the collection | → 24-25 NOV 1–9pm | Spazio Maiocchi

⨳ BOOKWORKS REVISITED. PART 1 : A SELECTION, 1987 36’33’’
beside a reproduction of the text The New Art of Making Books, 1975
The screening program is focused on the Mexican artist Ulises Carrión San Andrés, Tuxtla, Mexico, 1941 - Amsterdam 1989. With the manifesto The New Art of Making Books, Carrión has played a decisive role in defining the artist's book as a creative medium. His interdisciplinary practice has not only given rise to a large number of books and a publishing house, Other Books and So, but has also been expressed through shows, films, videos and sound works, working in public, institutional and independent. Equally essential for his journey was the involvement in the first artist-run space in Amsterdam, In-Out Center, active from 1972 to 1975. Dear reader. Don’t read is one of his most widely recognized aphorisms | → 24-25 NOV 1–9pm | Spazio Maiocchi

SPECIAL GUEST WU-TANGU Bledarte/Living Dakota, Bruxelles HOSTED by TOMBOYS DON'T CRY
— We've seen Wu-Tangu playing for Boiler Room with Bonaventure and recently in Paris alongside the south-african duo FAKA, we are so excited to have her in Milano for her very first time. With her lunatic attitude Wu-Tangu loves sharp rhythms and easily switches from Pop remixes to Afro tunes via Jersey tracks. She is active in two separate but complementary collectives in Belgium: Bledarte and Leaving Dakota. Bledarte is a feminist decolonial collective who is very concerned with the POC narrative in the art field and want to give access to dancefloors and exhibitions to everybody, with a particular focus on immigrants' children. Leaving Dakota is a duo collective she has with Golce Dabbana, keeping themselves busy creating an alternative network for artists and musicians through parties, exhibitions, projections and radio shows. TOMBOYS DON'T CRY is a girls from any gender and non-binary collective based in Milano that aims to promote a post-identity agenda within artistic practice with the effort to create days and nights adventures | → 24 NOV 11pm–04am | KO Club
RISOGRAPH WORKSHOP | THE RISO CLUB 18
with PIERRICK BRÉGEON, ALI-EDDINE ABDELKHALEK + EILEAN FRISS-LUND CH
— Risograph is an eco-friendly printing method into which the chromatic attitude of silk printing meets the fast timing of photocopy reproduction. It’s an awesome and professional - even if cheap - solution for little editions, due to its range of possibilities going from uniform tones to crazy analog patterns. For the third year in a row _\|/_ is proud to host the visual design studio EUROSTANDARD: Pierrick Brégeon, Ali-Eddine Abdelkhalek + Eilean Friis-Lund - passionate Risograph printing researchers, whose past collaborations include among others such institutions as Écal, the Swiss National Film Archive, Les Urbaines Lausanne and the Visuelle Gestaltung Büro BonBon Zurich. During our two-days Risograph workshop, EUROSTANDARD will share with participants technical experiences and stylistic approaches in order to begin to know more about this peculiar printing technique, to learn how to appreciate its uncertainties and how to anticipate its outputs. We will develop a project together, specifically thought to reveal tricks ’n’ tips, to handle the technique both during the first phases of composition and the second ones ruled by printing. Riso printing workshop will be assisted by artist Elena Radice and ATTO, a design studio devoted to little Riso editions | → 17/18 NOV 10am–6pm | by application only through Open-Call | O' non-profit association
